Welcome to the NEW website of the Ridley Hockey League. This page is still under development. But in the meantime, we have added a links page to different locations around the internet.
Who are we?
The Ridley Hockey League is a ball hockey organization that also happens to be a non-profit. We were founded in 2021 with the sole vision of growing the sport of ball hockey in Delaware County, PA and the surrounding areas. The RHL (for short) has leagues for players age 4-17 as well as adults age 18+.
What is ball hockey?
You may remember the sport of street hockey growing up. Let's just say it takes the principles of that, along with some similar rules of ice hockey and brings them together in a rink. This sport is placed on foot, with sneakers. Any child/adult can learn to play this game. It is a very cost effective way of learning the sport without the large expenses of ice hockey.
What equipment do you need?
All youth players must wear a helmet with full cage, elbows, gloves, shins and a stick. An athletic supporter is also recommended, for added protection. The adult players must wear a helmet as well, but they do not have to wear a cage. They too wear elbows, gloves, shins and a stick.
